mechanical project engineer

Your function

As a Mechanical Project Engineer you provide support and deliver solutions for our Design&Build activities. You work closely with the project team on various tasks, ranging from drawing up technical specifications to coordinating purchasing and optimizing processes. You are the first point of contact for the site manager for all technical questions. For smaller projects you act as site manager yourself. Although you mainly work at our head office, you are active on sites during the implementation of projects, both within and outside Belgium.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Create and manage P&ID’s and Tag Lists based on input from the entire project team;
  • Collaborate with the Design Engineer to move from basic layout to detailed 3D piping design;
  • Electrical integration of all selected process equipment, instruments and valves in collaboration with the Electrical Project Engineer;
  • Preparing technical specifications for equipment, instruments, etc.
  • Drawing up and following up on price inquiries for the purchase of materials and subcontracted works, including technical-commercial evaluation of quotations;
  • Follow-up of purchased equipment and subcontractors;
  • Participation in HAZOP, preparation of risk analyzes and CE file;
  • Preparation of instruction manuals and as-built file.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in electromechanics or equivalent;
  • Passionate about technology, innovation and sustainability;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Communicative and a true team player;
  • Motivated, eager to learn and able to work in different domains simultaneously;
  • Flexible, reliable and detail-oriented, with a proactive attitude;
  • Able to plan and set priorities independently;
  • In possession of a driving license B.
