For our client Azulatis, Nuoro designed and constructed a versatile, fully containerized water treatment plant. The complete design and construction took less than 6 months to complete.
The mobile installation has been designed to treat surface water, groundwater or treated wastewater (bio-effluent). To meet end-customer needs, the plant has the capacity to deliver up to 55 m³/h crystal clear permeate, ready to be used as industrial service or production water.
Consisting of four 40ft containers and three roof-mounted container tanks of 23m³ each, the complete plant can be mobilized and deployed in a matter of hours. This makes it not only a high quality, industrial-grade water production facility, but also a great option for emergency water supply.
As a first robust process step, 4 ultrafiltration (UF) lines eliminate suspended solids and turbidity. The UF installation has a capacity of 72 m³/h net filtrate flow. Backwashing of the UF membranes happens in a fully automatic way, line by line. Filtrate is stored in one of the roof-mounted tanks, prior to further filtration.
The second process step is a two-stage reverse osmosis plant. Spiral-wound membrane modules housed in 12 pressure vessels ensure the separation of a concentrated brine and the pure permeate as product water.
