Nuoro designs and builds new industrial water reuse facility for Azulatis

08/12/2022

Client Azulatis NV, a subsidiary of De Watergroep, has tasked Nuoro with designing and building an advanced water reuse facility in 2023. This facility will utilize ultrafiltration (UF), UV treatment, and reverse osmosis (RO) to upgrade treated wastewater. This enables the repurposing of the purified water for the end client, offering both ecological and economic benefits.

Capacity and sustainability

With a production capacity of 50 m³ per hour, the facility will significantly reduce water usage at the involved food company. This not only provides an environmentally friendly solution but also offers additional security for operations during the increasingly drier summers in Flanders. The facility is designed to allow for future expansions, facilitating an even greater reduction of the total water burden on the end client.

Planning and delivery

The construction of the facility will be completed in 2023, with planned commissioning by summer. Upon completion, the facility will officially be handed over to Azulatis, marking a significant step towards more sustainable water use within the industry.

About Azulatis

The objective: to optimise and make the water flows at large water consumers more sustainable, thus ensuring significant savings in the pumping, processing and discharge of water. In this way, Azulatis also contributes to the development of a climate-robust water system in Flanders.
